THANKSGIVING

Hey guys and girls,

'THANKSGIVING' is a new series started by me. In this series, I would be writing about all those people who have mattered to me in some way or the other...some might have helped me, some might have made me smile, some I may dislike and some of them might mean the world to me.

But this series does not include my thanksgiving to my parents because already a post has been dedicated to them. This is a post dedicated to all my friends, acquaintances and foes (if I have any).
So, guys and girls...check this series regularly and keep watching for your name!!! Who knows, you might be lucky!!! (Sounds too much like those MTV chatter-boxes eh...?)

Cheers

*PEACE*

Witness History In The Making...

Barack Hussein Obama II is the first African American to be elected President of the United States. It is certainly a matter of pride for each and everyone. It is surely a history made.

Let us all get to know the schedule of events for Mr. Obama's inauguration as the 44th President of the US (what if we can't be there for the ceremony, right???) -

8 a.m. (6.30 p.m. IST): Gates to the inaugural ceremony on the West Front of the US Capitol open.

10 a.m. (8.30 p.m. IST): The inaugural festivities start. Two-hour programme includes musical selections and invocation by Rev. Rick Warren.

11.45 a.m. (10.15 p.m. IST): Joe Biden is sworn in as vice president.

12 noon (10.30 p.m. IST): Barack Obama takes the oath of office as president using Abraham Lincoln's inaugural Bible.

12.05 p.m. (10.35 p.m. IST): President Obama gives the inaugural address.

12.30 p.m. (11 p.m. IST): After his inaugural address, Obama escorts outgoing President George W. Bush to a departure ceremony.Attends a luncheon in the Capitol's Statuary Hall.

2.30 p.m. (1 a.m. IST): The 56th Inaugural Parade makes its way down Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House.Later that day, the Presidential Inaugural Committee will host 10 official inaugural balls.

(PS: I got this data from a website.)

It is being said that more than one million people flooded the capital to watch the swearing-in of the country’s first black President.

I wish I could have been there. For me, this is a sensational victory for the not only the blacks but each and everyone. All the racial boundaries have to get dissolved and vanished with this!! Obama has sworn-in as the 44th President and he is the FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT and he has made history.

It might sound stupid, but I am personally so happy after his victory. This victory in itself is an answer to the whites’ thinking of their being the most superior and premium race in the world. This man, Barack Obama, seems genuinely an honest man. His intentions (i.e. working towards the welfare of his country) can be clearly seen on his face!

I personally wish Mr. Barack Obama best of luck and may God shower all his choicest blessings on him and his family. May God give him strength and courage to face any obstacle that would come his way!

ALL THE BEST TO YOU MR.OBAMA... WE LOVE YOU!
PS : The collage has been made by me and it is a gift from my side to Mr. Obama. I know he won't even come to know about this collage, but I am just trying to be OPTIMISTIC.

Karaoke...give it a try... :)

Ok, I bring to you all a game. Let's try this.

If you have to sing a song (karaoke) and would have to associate it with yourself, what would it be...?

If you ask me, my song would be 'Zindagi zindagi, kya tera roop hai...' by Ganesh Hegde.

The lyrics of the song -

Zindagi Zindagi Kya Tera Roop Hai,

Tu Kabhi Chaanv Hain Aur Kabhi Dhoop Hain,

Zindagi Zindagi Kya Tera Roop Hai,

Tu Kabhi Chaanv Hain Aur Kabhi Dhoop Hain,
Zindagi Zindagi...

Kabhi Lagti Hain Tu Meri SaheliKabhi Lagti Hain Tu Mujhko Paheli,

Kabhi Lagti Hain Bheed Mein Gungunati,

Kabhi Lagti Hain Gum Sum Akeli,

Zindagi Zindagi Kya Tera Roop Hai,

Tu Kabhi Chaanv Hain Aur Kabhi Dhoop Hain,

Zindagi Zindagi...

Tu Hi Meri Dhadkan Tu Hi Saansein,

Tu Hi Mere Din Hain Tu Hi Meri Raatein,

Tujhe Dekhne Ko Tarasti Hain Aankein,

Tujhe Dekhana Ab Meri Bebasi Hain.

Zindagi Zindagi Kya Tera Roop Hai,

Tu Kabhi Chaanv Hain Aur Kabhi Dhoop Hain,

Zindagi Zindagi...

Lets paint this picture.. happily!! :)

Ah...this post is about something that I just felt 2 days back! Read this-

People are like crayons I tell you...different colors.

You might come across someone who would be shrewd and all the more clever (one big devil) - BLACK is the color! You might be with a person who would be the most apt personification of silence - for such people, WHITE! Then there is this non-stop chatterbox which goes blah..and this happened and blah...and that happened and blah types...you can associate the brightest RED with such people. Oh, and then one fine day you come across a girl who is beautiful and just about a perfect mixture of sugar and spice...PINK, for such beautiful ladies.

I came across one PINKY RED girl (more of RED) a few days back. After about half an hour, I felt like running, screaming and scratching my head. She just could not stick at one topic at a time..."OK, lets click a picture."

And just a minute later, "Transfer this song to my phone."

And a second later, she jumped on to something else.

Such people just leave others baffled at the end of the conversation.

Then you have some extreme sort of people, they think that every situation is either completely BLACK or completely WHITE. They cannot be somewhere in the middle - GREY. Talking to such people can be hazardous. There can be no conclusion that you can satisfactorily reach to. The best way out is to agree that whatever they said was right!

I have a friend who is the purest WHITE. He rarely talks, always smiles. :)

To make such people talk can be almost like banging your head against the wall presuming that one day the wall might move. But the only thing we would be left is a broken head!!

What I actually want to say is that you'll find many people coming into your life. But its not necessary that you have to like each one of them. Some people might make you feel that you are so special, some might leave you feeling frustrated and some might actually drive you crazy that you would almost feel like killing them. But that is not something that can be or should be done. One has to learn to mingle with every color, the RED or the PINK or the WHITE or even the BLACK.

No matter whichever color pops in, we should know how to make a rainbow out of it. This is what even I would try from now on. Let all of us get rid of the hatred and any sort of grudges that we ever had for anybody, accept everyone as they are and still live happily.

One request-

Never let the smile fade away from anyone's face. Its easy to hurt someone but it is very difficult to make that person smile once again.

Welcoming Myself Into This World.. After 21 Years ;)

JANUARY 12, 1988

(8 A.M.)

She was yelling and crying in pain as she was rushed to Karthik Nursing Home in Erode (in Tamil Nadu). Dr.Suguna Balasubramanian had to attend to her. The moment Dr.Suguna heard that she had been brought to the hospital, she ran to see her patient. The doctor could see that this case had now turned complicated.

(8.30 A.M.)

Dr.Suguna's husband is also a doctor. He was also called by Dr.Suguna to assist her in the operation. The pain was now unbearable. So many emotions were taking birth inside her..

She was happy that she was going to bring her first child into this world..

She was in acute pain that was unfathomable..

She was scared.."What if i'm not alive to see my baby??".. and such questions clouded her mind even more.

(9.30 A.M.)

Dr. Suguna came to Mr.Viswanathan and informed him that his daughter's case was a very serious one. It was a question of life and death for her. She was in a serious condition and it was possible only for either of them to survive..either the baby or the mother. He was made to complete all formalities before the doctor could begin the surgery. His hands shivered while he was filling the form and signed it. He said, "Doctor, if it is a question of life and death for her, i would want my daughter and not the baby."

(10.30 A.M.)

Dr. Suguna went inside the operation theatre and the red color light above the door went on..

Each and everyone was praying for her, her husband was called from Delhi..(we have a custom that the first baby is born at the mother's place). In the midst of the operation, the doctor found that the blood pressure of the patient had shot to 210/180..and the patient got an attack of epilepsy!!

The doctor gave her heart and soul in saving her patient. The operation continued for 2 hours..

"What would i tell Venkatesh if Subha doesn't sur....," thought Mr.Viswanathan. Obviously, he would have had to answer every question that her husband would have asked him if something would have happened to her.

(1.15 P.M.)

The hospital heard an intense, high-sounding and piercing cry of a baby girl.. :)

Mr.Viswanathan, was thrilled when he heard the cry of the baby, but suddenly he was reminded of his daughter..

"The doctor said any one of them would survive and if the baby has..then what happened to Subha..??"

He was anxiously waiting for the doctor to come out.

(1.45 P.M.)

Dr.Suguna came witha big smile on her face and said..

"Congratulations, Subha and your angel, both are fine."

Mr.Viswanathan could not understand what to do..to cry or to smile!! He took the angel in his arms and called his son-in-law and told him the good news!!

January 14, 1988

Mr.G.K.Venkatesh reached Chennai. It was a long way before he could reach Erode which is another 260 kms from Chennai. January 14 was the day when the Tamilians celebrate Pongal. All modes of transport did not work that day and he had to take lifts from strangers, sit in a lorry and finally after many such hardships, reach Erode. When he took me in his arms, his joys knew no bound and all the fatigue had vanished.

January 15, 1988

Subha regained consciousness after 3 days. She did not knew what had happened to her baby. Mr.Venkatesh came in, gave her the baby in her hand and he became the sole eye-witness to what his wife felt at that moment. (Ahh, i wish i could have seen her at that time.)
