Love is not about finding the right person, but creating a right relationship. It's not about how much love you have in the beginning but how much love you build till the end... I am sure a lot of you would agree to this little something.
I have been in love before, I have had my share of infactuations too ... this time it's the same, nothing different. Something that has completely changed are...the times. I am happy now. I have evolved as a better person after all that happened in the last few days. June' 10 will be a biiiiiiiiggg part of my life forever. The owner of this little space is NOT single anymore, forever! :) :) ... Happily Committed, yes... that too ... FOREVER! His name is Srihari Menon... :D
I never expected this... it all came all of a sudden. Trust me guys, this is for the better...rather the best.
Better late than never, I realized... Life is about trusting your feelings, taking chances, losing and finding happiness, appreciating the momories, learning from the past, and realizing ... people change.
This post is completely dedicated to my guy... Srihari.
Baby,
I am in love with you! :) ... I promise to give you all that you have dreamt of.
I'll always be by your side till the very end. I'll smile when you smile, and feel all the pain you do... if you cry a single tear, I promise i'll cry too. I have understood that sometimes what you want isn't always what you get, but in the end what you get is so much better than what you had always wanted. Thank you for coming into my life, taking my hands into yours and teaching me to walk happily towards what we are destined.
I have fought with you so many times, have even made you shed tears... but I was stupid... didn't know how much I meant to you. I have changed now, for the better... for you. Trust me, it's all fine now.
I never believed you when we fought and you said you'll keep me happy... when you hugged me and said i'll wipe your tears. But now, there is no one I trust more than you. You belong ONLY to me and I ONLY to you.
I wanna grow old with you... see the first wrinkle under those chinkey kinda eyes... be the one to hold you whenever you need someone, see our babies growing and in the end, wanna die in your arms!
Love you always... :)

Guys, this is something that I wanted to share with all of you because you all are an integral part of what makes me ME! :)
Love you all,
Artz!

WHAT??
Last night was an eye-opener sorts for me. I have a reason to support what I felt.
As any normal person complains, I too have my set of complaints. I do think and brood over them. I do cry thinking about my problems. I do suddenly feel the urge to do something that would bring all my problems to an end and I do admit that I have a habit of 'sometimes' blaming someone else for my problems. It is a matter of shame that in the last few months, I have blamed my parents for the problems I face.
I know that what I felt, was the biggest mistake I did ever in my life. Last night there was one surprise in store for me. My dad called. No, that is not the surprise I was talking about. My dad called and he was talking to mom. While talking about other things, there was one thing he said, "We earn quite a good income, and inspite of that I have never done anything for my daughter. Every time I plan to do something for her, God gives me some problem or the other." My mom told me that he sounded to be in pain.
I could not sleep last night. Realization dawned on me. I really did think abour how hard he works to bring us out of all the problems we are going through. I have never done anything for him. I 'work' or may be just pretend to do so for the sake of it. But I hardly care of my work brings any returns or not. I have been living an awful meaningless life. I have just blamed my dad all this while. I have never helped him.
But, that soul (My Father) has always taught me lessons...those lessons which has only got me better.
I am sorry dad to have let you down till date. I promise to work hard. I promise to hear it one day from you that you are proud of me. After all that happened yesterday, I can just say one thing -

Last week I wrote a post. I promised to speak the truth for a week. Trust me guys, it was difficult... way too difficult. I did try my best. And to my surprise I could manage it well. But I did fail... three times in that week. Still, I learnt the art of being honest.
This week, am not putting the blame on anybody for anything. I am going to take the responsibility for my actions...whether good or bad. Even if the worst happens, it is only going to make me strong and capable of handling everything that comes my way.
Best Wishes,
Nyx!

Another brainless rant... :P
Well, oh well... it's been a pretty long time since I landed here last.
Many reasons I have that forced me to stay away from my Utopian World - to begin with, I went on a family tour to Tirupati...needless to say, it was fun. Second, I went to Bangalore, met Prats, Abhrajit and someone new...Abhishek Maiti; the last...fever, cold and sore throat!
There has been a lot to think over in the last few days... I want to be a journalist (Any journo listening?), I want a Louis Vuitton bag, I want to revive the blogger in me, I want to earn big time, I want to be happy, I want to go abroad, I want to get married, have kids, stay happy...phew!!
Alright, let me have the privilege to cut my own crap and begin with some sensible 'gyaan' for you guys! o_O
Tirupati... a heavenly place! Lord Venkateswara (or Lord Balaji) rests over seven mountains. The place is called Tirumala. A pilgrimage, where thousands of people flock to just catch a glimse of the Lord. Mind you, you can just catch a glimse of him! When I came out after seeing him, all I knew was that all the time that I was there in the Garbagraham (the main spot where Lord Venkateswara is), I had my eyes fixed on him. I cam out with tears in my eyes. The only thing I felt at that particular moment was that now since I have seen him and mentally prostrated in front of him, all my worries will be taken care by him. He is the wire-puller and so he knows, what I want.
People from different states (even from North India) were chanting the name of the Lord while standing in queues. But... what was irritating was that... even while standing in the queue, the people were just not considerate towards the females. They were pushing each and everyone so badly while making their way towards Garbagraham. My maternal aunt accompanied us to Tirupati. She was close to 55 years old. I saw ladies who were close to 70 years old, being pushed by the uncles around.Sad... someone needs to teach them decency!
Anyways guys...these days, I don't know why, I am just not able to gather all my intellect and try and push myself to write something worth a read. Hope to be back soon with something that would ring a bell in someone's head.

Good Old Days!
Alright, so I am back with a post... after a long time indeed!
Know what guys? Whatever it is, it is damn cute! ... the thing is... my dad is attending his School Alumni Meet soon! And the best part of the story is that recently he received a mail from his classmate and you should have looked at the smile on his face... stretching from ear to ear. He was looking very cute. He is turning 51 on Nov 30th and at this age, when he got to know about his schoolmates etc., it was the return of good times for him. Touchwood...
Without drifting away from the topic, I was just thinking, how would I feel when I would get to meet my classmate when I would be, say, 50 years old. Awesome!! I am already giggling like a kid. I saw the kid inside my dad come alive today. It certainly would be feeling amazing, isn't it?
How eventful that Alumni Meet would be! A group of friends... talking about their life after school, about their family, about their profession, remembering those days when they hated their Mathematics professor, etc. Wow! Life is beautiful at times, isn't it? I have a schoolmate - Nidhi. Say I meet her when am around 50 years of age, completely unexpected! We try hard to recognize each other and when we do, how would the reaction be?... like this? ...
*Mouth wide open*
Nidhiiiii? Oh my god... hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... how have you been???
Every word, every sentence would be exclamatory in nature! Right?
Life sometimes presents you with such pleasant surprises. Pure bliss! All the best dad for your Alumni Meet... hope you have an awesome time.
Love,
Your Daughter!
Guys, tell me how would you feel if you meet your classmate in a completely unexpected circumstance after may be 30 years? Pour in your views!

LOVE IS ALL THEY NEED...
A day when I fail to remember
Love that you all gave me
Zealously I pray, let it never happen
Hear my cries oh lord, hear me
Ever if it happens
I may please be forgiven
My memories have deserted me
Every moment it might be painful
Read my love for you in my eyes
Sadness is what they might speak
"I rushed to show this piece of paper to my mom! I somehow knew who's handwriting it was... my grandmother's!
"Mom, I saw this diary in my closet... went through a few pages and see what I saw."
My mom glanced through the pages. I was right! It was my grandmother's diary.
"Oh dear! I feel so sorry for her. May be she knew what was going to happen to her and hence, she wrote this."
I could see the tears in my mom's eyes.
My grandmother was a very cheerful lady...ever smiling! She always enjoyed meeting new people, talking to them, spreading smiles everywhere she went.
Suddenly she had started keeping to herself... she did not come out with us anywhere we went. She even stopped talking to me!
That afternoon when I came back from my school, she saw me through the door and refused to recognise me! At first I thought that she was joking, but later on I was told that she was not. In a few days' time, she stopped recognising everyone around and had started withdrawing herself from everything and everyone around.
After a few months, she became bed-ridden! She could not walk... out of fear she threw away the food I got for her. She spoke of the things unknown to us, may be something unknown to her as well. I always got angry on her whenever she did such strange things. I seldom could stop myself from shouting on her!
Today, she is no more...
Today when I read what she wrote a few years' back, it makes me feel guilty for what I did to her! She could do nothing but had to give in to that remorseful fate of hers.
Sorry Grandma, I know you are listening to my cries tonight.
Will you ever forgive me for what I did, ever?"
And with this, she closed her diary... A tear fell on the last word she wrote. She was not sure whether that word had been wiped off by the tear that fell on it, but she knew that these words would have been heard by her grandmom and would have been forever etched in heart!
P.S.: I saw a post on the aged people affected by the Alzheimer's disease in a post at Leo's blog Conjuring Kreativity! My heart goes out to all those affected by Alzheimer's. I urge all their friends and relatives to treat them with love and compassion because these patients hardly know what they are doing, unlike us who are very much aware of our actions.

C.R.O.S.S.R.O.A.D.S (My first acrostic)
Rough patches ahead
Oblivious of my surroundings
Smiles beginning to fade
Should I stop thinking about you
Rantings of my brain
Of all I can say today
All my smiles have lost the lustre
Do you still love me
Still I await an answer
P.S.: My first acrostic... I promise to get better with every acrostic I try.

Wedding bells ringing?

Birthdays were so much fun till I was 18 or 19 years old. My 20th birthday made me realize that I was no more a kid. My college friend got engaged when she was 20.
My 21st birthday... 12th Jan, 2009... it got me scared! There was no flavour of happiness anymore. It was just another day, yet it had something serious attached to it. I was growing an year older. Why was I sad? Why was I not happy like I used to be? May be the very meaning of the day had changed...
An year older...
The first thing that comes to my mind is - I can anytime hear the wedding bells ringing! Damn!
Ever thought about it seriously? C'mon girls...think about it! I have started to think a lot about it!
So many of my friends are getting married so soon...

The engagement ceremony, haldi ceremony, henna, laughters, music playing loud and all that jazz...!
Just yesterday she was a happy-go-lucky sort of a girl and today all of a sudden, her life takes a big turn...the biggest turn! What would she be feeling? Wasn't she so free from all responsibilities till now? Wasn't she free to get up at 10 A.M. in the morning and still not be answerable to anyone? Wasn't she free to enjoy that 'laughter'? Wasn't she free to speak to anyone she wanted to? Wasn't she free to do no household chores and still not be blamed for it?
And now, she would be so much more accountable to everyone in her family. Her life is no more hers. It would always be about her husband, her kids, her in-laws and then about her. So many responsibilities all of a sudden, her thoughts, her fears... no one can answer them!

One of my friends just got married on May 31st... What I could see on her face was more than just happiness, she was tensed...she did not know what will happen... she had so many things to look after. This was the time when she would have to build up the base of the most important relationship of her life... a relationship that would determine her future! Everything would be on her... maintaining the house, taking care of every household activity, building strong relationships with everyone, it would now be about 'her family'.
With every single day passing, my heart is skipping a beat! I just pray that 'THE DAY' never comes. I am behaving like an idiot I know. But that is what any girl would feel. Every single discussions we have without our parents about getting married at the age of 25 and not before that... stops making sense as soon as they find a good guy! Hah!
It almost seems that we never had a life of our own...nor would we ever have. Sigh!!
My message to my friends who are going to get married -
We know we can't help it, isn't it? We epitomize strength. We can handle it girls...
Get married... You can do it... Shrug away all the fears, break all the inhibitions! :)
May you be blessed with all the happiness and strength. Stay blessed! :)

A Pain That Will Last Forever!

Everything is so unpredictable these days, isn't it?
Life has itself become a Roadies Battleground or another Splitsvilla for that matter. Yesterday, I saw an episode of real life (And not reel life) Splitsvilla. My friend's girl friend (now his ex-girl friend) got married to someone else yesterday... big day for both of them.
This is not the time to think about what went wrong, what could have been done or anything as such. It is the time for pure emotions, confessions, tears and hugs. It is the time when your friendship with that person gets tested.
I don't know what all would be going through your mind dear, but of all I know, I think this is what you want to tell her -
Dear Love,
I do know what went wrong between us. I do know that I was at fault. The world knows how much we loved each other and that love was not fake.
Today you are getting married and I am all alone here thinking about where I went wrong, what I did. I don't know all that but all I can say is that ever since you came into my life, I loved you with all my heart and soul. I don't know if I would be able to forget you. I love your smile, that hug with which you greeted everyone, that strength in you, that vigour to support someone you believe in, that will to fight life's harsh bends and curves, that love that you showered upon me...I love you!
I have made you cry a lot of times gurl, but tonight I have compensated for it. I would continue to do it all through my life. Thinking of every moment that I had spent with you are today giving me goosebumps...
I know you can never be mine now... But my hearts yearns for your love... It pains when I see you with somebody else... I know I am a loser... But my heart denies to accept the fact that you can now never be mine!
My heart still loves you and no matter what I do, I will always love you!
With Love,
Yours Truly.
Hey guy, all I can say is life goes on. I know what you are going through right now, but trust me... You will get over it and you will have to get over it. Khush reh yaar...sab theek ho jayega. I cried the whole night for you...I know that no one can share the space that she had in your heart, but as a friend, I will always be there with you to share that pain. Love ya...and you know that! Mwah! :)

Love ya Bhai...!! I really do!! :)
Image CourtesySometimes I just hate everything around me. Everything stops making sense to me. And precisely, that is when I hide my face into the pillow and cry my heart out. I cry till I end up laughing.
But every day is not the same!
Yesterday was a lot more different than any other day. I was blamed for something that I just did not do.
Yesterday I felt the need of someone who would listen to me, comfort me and give me a feeling that he/she is there for me. A feeling that he/she just does not love me only when I am happy but also when am sad, dejected, when I feel lonely and need a shoulder to lean on and cry!
Believe me, yesterday night was very tough for me.
And all thanks to you...I am back to the smiling me! You brought me back. I was always afraid of you for no bloody reason. Just that the aura around you had always left me speechless bhai! Really!
I always stopped myself from talking to you, from calling you. But yesterday was it!! I just had to. Had I not called you, I would have cursed myself, my life and everything that happened and cried all night long. Thankfully, I did call you.
That one word by which you addressed me did wonders for me Bhai. You called my 'beta'. It was so genuine and I know that. :)
The way you handled me, no one would have ever been able to do that. I don't know how you do it, I just look up to you!! :)
I slept with that smile on my face...a smile for which I will be forever indebted to you! :)
'Thank you' is something that is said to a friend, an acquaintance. But for you...no words, no thank you's, no sorries! Words would always fail to describe what I feel for you.
*World's biggest and tightest hug to you bhai*
Love ya tonnes! :)

Emotional Atyachaar...!!
I remember one day when I was in my home town, and was sitting in the courtyard of my house. We lived in an Agraharam, a lane where only Brahmins could live {Link}.

I saw two school boys perfectly dressed in uniforms walking past my house. From the other side of the lane, they saw two old men walking towards them. Those were the times when the school declared a holiday on the event of a death of any old person from the village!
The name of the first boy was Ramalingam and the second boy's name was Shyamu.
Enjoy the conversation:
Ramalingam - Hey, do you see these old men coming from the other side of the lane?
Shyamu - Oh yes da, why?? Whats wrong?? Do you know them??
Ramalingam - No, not about knowing them. But it feels as if our TWO HOLIDAYS are approaching towards us. Wonder when will we get them!!
Both winked at each other.
Lol...

Same is the case with the Indian Government. After the campaining (begging), polling and results of elections 2009, all I see is many more holidays to come!! :)

With the office bearers' age bracket as 65-75, I see many more holidays and hence, more happiness and smiles.
All the best to the Indian Government!! :)

Savior for Me, A Life to See...
My Savior
He took me by my hand
And showed to me
The Road to Happiness!
I worried
I had lost my smile
Kept yearning for someone
Who would
Bless me with a life!
God heard my cries
He sent you for me
That soothing smile
My sorrows
I saw them flee!
With you by my side
The journey seems joyful
Every pain seems to fade away
Happiness our companion
Along with all those smiles!
Being with me
Is what I need as a promise
With you with me
I am ready for more to see!
This is a dedication for my friend Vinay a.k.a. Leo! It has been a pleasure knowing you! :)

Dear Mom...!!
I always wanted to know
How much you love me
Staying awake through the night
I cried for that love
That love
That I wanted to see in your eyes
I never saw it ever
Why mom? Why?
Why do you make me cry
Can't you see the pain in my eyes?
I know you know my pain
Still you never hold my hand
My tears all in vain!
Hold me dear Mom
You mean the world to me
Let me share your worries
Will I ever see your love
Raining on Me?
Will you let me confide in you?
A moment of happiness
A single moment of bliss
Is all that I desire!
When I try to hug you next
Please do not push me away
Let me rest in peace there
Because that is my world
My world to stay!
Let me rest in peace there
Because that is my world
My world to stay!

Fly away with freedom :)

I write this post not out of frustration, but out of sheer understanding of WHAT I AM. It might surprise you guys but it took me time to make myself understand that rather than being sad because I am not the sort of person that my friends want me to be, I should understand that if 5 or 6 people hate me, I have a 100 more to love me for what I am!
You say I am to be blamed if I don't fit in properly into a so-called extraordinary group of yours? I don't think I should be blamed after all for what I think you all did to me! When will some people understand that I cannot be like them? If you think I don't match up to your standards, its alright! After all no one is that dependent on anybody! Right??
You cannot blame Usha Utthup for not singing like Shreya Ghoshal, can you?? Nor can you blame Romesh Powar for not playing like Sachin Tendulkar! Right?? Hah! How dumb!! And I kept blaming myself for it all this while.
Sometimes it is just so better to let go of things.
We have a habit of clinging on to things. We indulge so much in emotions that we somehow turn our backs to practicality! Emotions are good, but not at the expense of hurting yourself. People may not necessarily understand you all the time - why you did it, what you did etc. We, for that matter at least I, always think of giving it one more try - one more try to strike a chord with the other person, one more try to keep him/her happy, but all I end up doing is getting hurt and still getting up to give it a try ONE MORE TIME! It is better at times to realize that you are not the one for this. I can't let someone rule on me!
I have been a philanthropist all my life, but now I feel the need to change! I want to live for myself, my family and the ones whom I love. I don't want to be hurt all the time when I am trying so hard to bring a smile to your face!
Life is tough, a lot more tougher for me now! I have to take every expectation in my stride and I have to fulfill them! I might disappoint a few, but that would always have a reason!
I always wondered Why ME? May be certain things are better left unanswered. And that is what life teaches you! Take everything that comes your way...disappointments, happiness, love, failures, success, pain...everything! Set yourself free...! Trust me on this...you will only see yourself changed for the better! :)
P.S.: You might end up feeling that I am oh so sad, but duh!! You are wrong! I am so very happy that I rediscovered so many things about myself!

Lost!!

Your thoughts slowly creep
As I toss and turn in the sleep,
That walk on the beach
The happiness beginning to seep!
The dreams we saw
Of a happy tomorrow,
Once they were real
Once when you were here!
My life now colorless
To live I fight each day,
The withered soul
I wish I had you with me, i pray!
Why did you teach me how to smile
When you had to take it all away,
Should I blame it on you
Or should it be considered my mistake?
True was my love for you
You still wandering in my thoughts,
And you know what they say
Better not to have loved than to have loved and lost!!

Thanksgiving No. 2 ... SEBY!

*Coughs*
*Coughs again*
*Music plays*
I proudly present to you, ladies and gentlemen, Mr.Seby John!!! No, no, no...not the Security Exchange Board of India! :P
I met him three years back...it was his freshers' party. I was his senior in college. There was a classmate of mine, lets say A, who came running to me and told me about this guy...she was telling me how cute he is...and she went blah blah blah about him. I was not attending college just when the new session had started...so I just had no idea about who Seby was!
Then I was told that A was trying to test her luck and she had tried striking a conversation with Seby and she pronounced his name as Saby...he striked back saying... "Its not Saaaaby...my name is Seby...Seby John!" Whoa!! James Bond style...not bad! I still wonder how A would have felt...lol! She was trying her best to start a conversation with the so-called new kid on the block...and he stops her right then!! Anyways, lets continue with the Thanksgiving now.
Hmm...as far as my memory goes, he is the one whom I loved like my own kid. I could never and I still can never see something happening to him. During my college days, he was the most precious possession of mine! As I just said, it was almost as if I POSSESSED HIM or may be as if HE WAS MINE. :P
May be I was stupid, but I know Seby understands why I felt that way!
When we had just started talking, I realised that we hit off immediately. Being a sort of person who gets uncomfortable in front of strangers, I did not even realize how everthing had turned around.
He is one emotionless wreck...nope, may be that is what some people feel! Outwardly an emotionless wreck may be! But all those 'revelation sessions' we had during our late night conversations...wow! Thank God! I know, he aint a robot!
Chocolate boy kinds with a super cute lover boy image...yes, that is what he looks like!
I am not in touch with any of my college friends after I graduated. But this is one guy whom I cannot do without. I have cried a million times whenever he fought with me. I've laughed a zillion times when I was with him. I never knew what life had in store for me...glad to know it was him!
I know how possessive we are about each other, the amount of love we hold in our hearts!
Once there was a fight in my college which had me and him involved in it. I tried my best to support him and guess what guys, at 4.45 AM in the morning I had this guy messaging me. He messaged me this -
"Yaar Aarthi, neend nahi aa rahi...teri yaad aa rahi hai :(
You've supported me so much. Agar aaj tu nahi hoti toh sab meri &%#2% maar dete.
Pata nahi how am I gonna make up for everything that you've done for me. I'm surviving in this college only because of you. Thanks a lot.
You dunno how much you mean to me, may be I wont be able to express either. Muah, bye!"
And people call him inexpressive and emotionless...is he??
Atleast for me, he is not!
He was my bestestest friend, my support system! I was myself in front of him and he loved me that way!
Dear My Beast, this is what I still feel for you. I was never able to do without you and its still the same. You mean a lot to me...it'll always be this way! Please lets not fight anymore! :)
P.S.: Sorry for that message thing :P
Love you tonnez!! Muah! :)
P.P.S.: That the worst pic of ours. But its okayy! After all, its just the feelings that matter! :P

I'm Waiting! :(
I'm waitingI'm waiting for this plant to grow
That one day it becomes a tree
And from all the burdens it sets me free!
Twenty girls I liked
Twenty Five I proposed
Thirty slapped me
And therefore I tied this rope!
You know not the pain
We hold in our little hearts
The way we run after you
And you make us see the stars!
Damn all these damsels
I've now decided
Agonised is my soul
I feel alienated!
I trusted in you
Your 'No's have hurt me
All my savings
You've made me spend all the money!
I water this plant every day
Let it grow
And to end my agony
I've tied this rope!

The Second Childhood...!
Just when I was a kid,I never felt the burden of any responsibility,
Everything was so filled with innocence,
Everything full of sanctity.
When I grew up,
Life was never again simple,
Such rough patches,
My skin's wrinkle.
Today I stand alone,
Like an oak tree,
I see these children,
Climbing the mountains in a spree.
I've lost all my glory,
Lost the twinkle in the eye,
The dull remembrance of everything,
All frozen up within.
Tonight as the sun sets,
When I am growing old by another day,
I have a wish in my heart,
Do not cry, just remember me all day!

And I Finally Saw You...

Three years back
Just three years back
You turned away from Me
And I couldn't call you back!
My soul in anguish
My dreams you shattered
You turned away from Me
As if I never mattered!
I ran away from home
It is my wedding tonight
I can see you, feel you and speak to you
They say I am not alright!
I know you still exist
I am not wrong
They call me insane
But to you I belong!
I've run a long way to find you
A long way tonight
And to be one with you
Is going to be my last rite!
In the midst of this starry paradise
I gaze at the sky
I see you looking at me
And you winked thrice!
I finally saw you tonight
To prove to everyone that I am right
That our love is true
And I finally saw you! :)
P.S. : Thank you for choosing the picture for me and inspiring and motivating me to try my hand at poetry dear Vinay.
Together from the Womb :)
From the womb we are connected,
That is where we stem from,
Ever since then,
Together we have been throwing a tantrum!
He pushes me,
I throw on him my toys,
He hates me,
And I hate these boys!
He is ill,
And I cannot sleep,
Didn't I tell you I hate him,
Then why do I weep?
That is how we are,
Just the way you are,
Every leaf is our sibling,
And the roots, the womb!
We take birth, live together,
If any one of us dies,
We mourn the loss together.
We protect each other, we protect you,
From sun, from rain,
No matter what we go through.
We fight, we crib, we rant,
Together we live, we plan,
To be happy, to grow each day,
To learn the life's lessons,
The lessons our way! :)
P.S.: Thank you Vinay for the picture and motivating me to write another poem! :) I hope I did justice to it.
